It's a battery-operated item with 10 LED bulbs and passive infrared technology. It can detect movement in the dark and automatically turn on when someone is within 10 feet. After 25 - 30 seconds of no motion detected, it automatically turns off. It also won't turn on if there is already enough light in the area. This uses four AAA batteries (not included) and is easy to install with a magnetic strip - no tools, screws, or nuts needed. This is great for stairs, pantries, entryways, and more.
